12d Model 15 is released.
This is a major upgrade.
It is available free of charge if:
- If you own a Perpetual Licenses and have current software maintenance.
- You are using a Subscription License.
Things you need to know:
- 12d Model Version 15 (V15) is installed alongside 12d Model Version 14 (V14).
You can have both programs on your computer. - It is recommended that any existing 12d V14 project remain and are completed in V14 if the project is near completion.
- V14 Projects are upgraded automatically if they are opened in Version 15, but it’s a one-way street.
You cannot downgrade a V15 project database back into V14.
BUT a backup copy of your 12d Model 14 project is created in the Working Folder when you upgrade. Note: V14 Sharing of models and tins will need to be removed prior to upgrading to V15. - You will need a new authorisation file for 12d Model Version 15.
Your old V14 or V12 nodes file will not work for V15.
Upgrade procedure:
- Download 12d Model 15 using the link on the 12d Wiki (approx 2Gb)
- Install 12d Model Version 15 onto your computer
- Authorise 12d Model 15 using the nodes.12d15n file sent to you by 12d Solutions or by your local Distributor.
- Migrate any necessary environment, configuration, and library files from 12d Model 14 to 12d Model 15.
- Start 12d Model Version 15 and open or create a project.

Themes and scaleable toolbars
12d Users can change the 12d main menu and toolbars layout based their work needs for increased productivity.
12d Model 15 comes with a ‘Standard’ theme for V15, a ‘Classic’ theme (looks like V14) as well as themes for BIM, CAD, Design, 12d Field, Survey, Tin Analysis, and Water.
Using a 12d Theme presents together all the typical 12d tools in a logical workflow method to increase productivity and enhance useability.
